I went to school for journalism and communications, graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's College of Media. During that time I freelanced as a staff writer for Buzz Magazine, the Daily Illini's weekly entertainment insert.

While I had the pleasure of interviewing local business owners and musicians, the highlight of that experience was interviewing Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello about his Nightwatchman solo tour.
